Ok, I haven't posted anything in a looongg time.

I'll just write a quick rundown on whats going on lately.

I'm learning how to play "Think of Me" on the piano and it sounds really pretty.

My church is putting on a Christmas play for the first time in like 10 or 100 years.

My brother is getting married to a girl named Katrina. And I'm being a bridesmaid.

We just finished an awesome 3D 500 piece puzzle.

I'm having trouble with friends.

I don't have to wear anymore bands on my braces!! yay!

New Hampshire and scary moment of today

I'm leaving tomorrow morning at 6:00 to go to the airport to go to New Hampshire, so that means I have to get up at 5:15. We're going to see some people that my parents met at Shannon's funeral and to see the fall colors in New England. We'll be back Saturday at around 4:00 p.m.

Today I babysat Kelsey and it was normal until she wanted to go outside and blow bubbles. So okay I got the bubbles and opened the door to go out, shut the door behind me check to make sure it's still unlocked to see if I could get back in and guess what? It's locked! I don't know how. When I opened the door to go out it was unlocked, then I shut it and it was locked!! And of course I didn't have a key or anything. The back door was locked, too. I got really like, scared and I didn't know what to do so I was gonna knock on one of the neighbors' door to use their phone then I realized I didn't know Mrs. Kathy's cell number. Then I was kinda shaking sort of cause that's kinda a bad neighborhood and I didn't want us to be kidnapped or something. After I relaxed and started to blow bubbles with Kelsey I thought *well at least its not like 10 or something* So I said to Kelsey "Well, Kelsey, it looks like we'll be outside til your mom gets home." So we went to her park and played with bubbles and swung on the swings for a little bit then we went back to the door step waiting for Mrs. Kathy to come home. But, thankfully Kelsey's mom always comes back at around 1:00 and when we went outside it was about 12:15. I was so glad we were safe when she finally came back, and I hope that never happens again. =O

This weekend is the family retreat and I am so happy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Cherise is coming home tonight and she's coming, too!!!! The only bad thing is I have a cold/allegies every year the same week/weekend as the family fall retreat! It's really annoying but I always have a great time. I love mountain view. I know that place by heart now. Every year I feel more and more at home when I get there. And having a lot of people that I love thats also there makes it even better. I love the campfires, songs, man hunt, cabin time, swinging on the swings, talking, playing, eating with everyone, family fued, square dancing, getting to know people better, and fellowshiping. It is just about the best weekend of the whole year! I hope it's as fun this year as its been as the last year and the year before that and the year before that and the year before that and the year before that! This will be our churches 9th time going there! Cherise hasn't been there in like 6 or 7 years I don't think. It will be awesome with her there. I wrote some letter to some of my closest friends that I'll give to them when we're there. I hope that will give us a chance to talk about how much we love each other and help us not get on each others nerves...as much. I hope to see most of you there!!

Camping was fun. except now i have this thing about killing a certain kid with a certain weapon with a certain way to cause the most pain and embarrassment ever. jk. But this kid can really make me so mad. u might have guessed who this kid is, but then again u might have not. if u have then u know what i mean, and if u haven't then u'll find out if u spend any time with the kid.

Seriously tho camping was fun. It was really nice to be camping again. Brought back many memories. Some good, some bad. Like waking up and having a camp fire.(good) having to walk a ways to get to the bathroom that doesn't have any soap. (bad) since I've been home I've done the following: Sleep, eat, talk, school, babysit a lot, think, think about how much i want to hurt this certain person, talk about that certain person i wanna hurt, dream about somethings that i can't get outa my head that i want to, and swim.

I started school yesterday. so far this year it hasn't been hard, and its been fun and easy and interesting. So i know it won't be like this the whole year but i hope it last most of the year.

Tonight, my small group starts meeting at the church. The way they have it set up for the kids is good and different. all the older kids can play in the multi purpose room, and the younger kids (kyla, kristina, samantha, and felisha) will be in the toddlers room having a bible lesson and stuff. The only thing is we need someone to watch them and teach it to them. So the adults were gonna have julia, betsy, charolatte, and I switch off and on babysitting them in pairs of two every other week. but then we remembered that betsy and charolatte dont come during the school year. so idk what we're gonna do.

This weekend is the kickoff, and Sunday I heard from someone that we're doing the song in front of the church. So it was kinda a surprise about doing the song made to love THIS Sunday but I'll do fine. I hope.

Pray that i wont go insane with all these sorts of things happening.

I'm going camping!! Woot woot! I haven't been camping in two years!!!! We usually went at least once a year but then things kept happening so we didn't go. So I'm really excited to be going camping again!! Cherise, Julia, Dad, Mom, Alina, Jeremiah, Jesse, Mrs. Penny, Mr. Bob, Mr. Millard, Mrs. Kathy, Joanna, and her cousin are going, too. My mom, Mrs. Penny and Mrs. Kathy are going to finish the MD part of the Appellation trail while everyone else goes swimming, play games and do stuff together. It should be very fun. My family will probably leave in about 20 min. We'll all get back on Monday sometime. Pray it will be fun and no one will get hurt. Bye!!

I finished the book "Paige" and started reading "Sherri". I finished Paige on Tuesday afternoon. I feel so proud of myself for actually getting interested in a book and finishing it in 3 days! Yay!

I started my new once a week job yesterday babysitting Kelsey. It went really well. And she didn't go poop! Yay, I didn't have to change her diaper! Anyways, I got some really cute pictures of her that remind me of Beccah and Noelle's cousins sort of. Here's a few of my favorite pictures.

Monday Tuesday and now today all day from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm. and i have been spending a lot of time with her. Playing games watching movies, drawing and so on.
I've been drawing and copying and coloring lately....I drew this one last night. I drew this one in inspiration of myself. lol.
This one i didn't draw completly. I have a post in my room with a fairy on it so i copied it from there but then i added and took away a bunch of stuff.
this one isn't very good but i was talking on the phone when i drew it.

Lisa came and spent the night Sunday night into monday.

On Thursday I went over to the Pruitts house. Beccah and Noelle came to pick me up cause my parents were getting new lisenses, so we stopped for gas at the wawa near my house and Beccah put gas in got in the car and turned the keys and the car wouldn't start! So to make a long story short we were at the wawa for about and hour I believe. But it wasn't all that bad. I got to spend some time with Beccah and Noelle. :) Mrs. Barb and Corrie came to jumpstart the car but it didn't work she Mrs. Barb called auto sense and they got a bigger car jumpstarter thing and it worked. Once we got to Noelle's house she showed me the new rooms and then we got started on making Pavlova. It was really fun. And I want to do it again sometime. =-] We made a double batch so her family could keep one and my family could keep one. My family and I LOVED it! The second piece I had, had a staple in it! I don't know how it got there, but when I was chewing I felt something metal in my mouth and I thought my braces had come loose or something but then I took it out of my mouth and it was a staple! I was really glad I didn't swallow it.

It was very fun and nice being at Cherise's for 8 days. I'm glad we went. We also went miniture golfing, played in the arcade, played tennis, did nails, played games, hung out, watched Gone with the Wind, went to the movies, and enjoyed each other. I watched 1 and a 3/4 seasons of friends during the week, too. =D

The Party Yesterday...

So yesterday there was a party at peaks view park for the people that were in the dorm in college that Josh was in. Julia and I only came because we had nothing else to do. And Lydia is Cherise's friend that i like. she's nice. Hopefully sometime this week we can hang out. this party is the main reason Josh came down to lynchburg. It was soooo hot outside!!!! we were all sweating. but i guess it was fun but not really since i barely knew anyone there. But after the party a few people came back to Cherise's apartment and we play super smash bros, mario kart, Texas hold'em, nertz, and boxers or briefs. That was fun. Ryan, Josh C., Walter, and Jesse stayed until around 10:00. but a few other people stopped by for a little bit. it felt really nice to be in air conditioning. =]

We went to Cherise's church yesterday morning. Her church has fancy lights, smoke, and really loud music for the worship. It's like a concert. Then the sermons are pretty good,too. I'm having fun. But I miss u guys, too!!!

IT was SO fun!!! I have lots of stories, and things to tell u about. But its hard to do it when u can only type it and u can't see my hand motions or anything. When I get my pics developed I think I'll try to get it on a cd so I can post them here. I dont know if they turned out okay. Let me just say a few things. I LOVED OUR SPEAKER!!!! His name was Eric Guerson?? (i forgot his last name but it was something like that) He was really good. He told us a lot of stories from being a missionary kid growing up and how he met his wife and stories about his littles girls. And he also showed us a lot of movie clips from big name movies like Narnia, LOTR, Superman, Spiderman, Borne Identity, and a lot more. People who went, what did u think about him?

:Friday:
It took a while to get a car. Julia almost blacked out. Her face turned white and she couldn't see. It was kinda scary. When we FINALLY got the car (silver mini van exactly like the Wayne's) We drove for about 20 minutes then stopped for lunch at someplace called like Golden Corral. It was soooo YUMMY!! We hadn't eaten for 8 hours. Then we drove some more and stopped at CCU (Colorado Christian University) to get a tour of the campus for about an hour and a half. Then we drove more to get to Breckenridge! It took like 2 hours. I was so tired after traveling all day. I know, Val, that you love to travel but when you do it ALL day long it gets tiring. I was so glad that we got there. It's nice to relax after a hard day of traveling. I woke up at 5:00 that morning and it was 8:10 your time, 6:10 our time when I finally got to sleep. I was up for 15 hours! When I was trying to get to sleep my head starting throbbing and burning up. I didn't think much of it and soon fell asleep. I woke up 2 hours later when Josh woke me up for dinner. And like always Josh chased me up the stairs, so I ran up. I shouldn't have done that, cause when I got out of bed I felt dizzy and sick. And with the high altitude you run out of breathe extremely easily. So I sat on the couch when I got upstairs, but then I couldn't get up. I couldn't even move. I felt paralyzed! I was started to black out cause my eye sight was fading. My mom came over to try to get me up. She brought me over to the table and I couldn't walk straight. I just stood behind my chair until Josh said "MANDA, JUST SIT DOWN!" then I sat down. I didn't feel like eating anything but once I drank some milk and ate some food I felt better. It's hard to explain how it felt exactly but it's the scariest, weirdest and most unforgettable feeling ever. It was because of the elevation was so high. It was 11,000 feet in Breckenridge. I felt tired, weak, and out of breathe for a few days until I got used to the elevation. So that night the 4 girls watched house and then finished getting settled in, then went to sleep at 10:30.

Saturday I slept into 8:00. 10:00 your time. I still felt a little out of sorts, but better. I had an onion bagel for breakfast. Then we all decided that we should drink a lot and eat often to stay normal. Mom and Dad went out to a horse place to sign us all up to go horseback riding on Monday. Julia, Josh, Dad, and I played hearts, while Cherise and Mom played Catch Phrase, then mom, Cherise, Josh and I played Dutch Blitz (like nertz) while Julia took and shower and dad watched TV. At 2:30 the girls went to the hot tub a few doors down from out room. Then we went on the bus to go downtown to walk around and see what there was. We had to wait 20-30 minutes for the bus to come. We walked around and bought a few things. I got a pink hoodie that said "Breckenridge" in purple letters. When we got back mom made dinner. After dinner the girls played Phase 10 while the boys watched TV. Then we all played Catch Phrase. After 4 games of that we made pop corn and sat on our balcony til we got cold and turned on the fireplace and sat around it talking until bed at 10:30.

Sunday I woke up at 9:00. We ate a big breakfast. Pancakes, bacon, fried eggs, bagels. Then at 10:30 we headed out into the woods with our bibles for our own church service. We sang songs that started with "Blessed" So we sang Might King, Blessed Be the Name of the Lord, and Blessed be the Lord the God of Israel. Then we all shared something about God and how he has worked in our lives. Mom sang a solo, Josh did a sermon, then dad sang a song for a prayer to close. Then after the service we walked in the woods getting pictures in the woods.

Anyways, after all that fun we went back to the condo and got in our swim suits and work out clothes, jumped in the car and went into town to go to the rec center. We had these pass thingys that the condo people gave us so we could get in free. But, sadly all we could do for free inside was work out and swim. So that's what we did. I worked out on this machine for your legs for about 20 minutes then we all went down to the pool, which was only 4 feet deep at the deepest, so we didn't really swim. We just went in the hot tub. They had tennis, rock wall climbing, and racket ball. After being in the hot tub for like 10 minutes the girls went to the locker room and got dressed and all ready to leave, went out to the car, hoping Josh and dad would be out there, but they weren't! And we didn't have the keys either. So we waited about 20 minutes for them to come out then we sent Julia and mom inside to get them. When they found them they we sitting at a table talking! That was surprising cuz normally it would be the girls who stay around talking and the guys out waiting for us to get to the car. When they finally came out we went farther into town to get something to eat. We went into this place called "Extreme Pizza" We took one look at their prices and said "No way" and walked out. We ate at "home" instead. Then after lunch we all took a nap. Julia and I slept the longest. We slept for 2-3 hours. The rest of my family went to a meet and greet thing that the condo place was having for people that stayed there. When I woke up we all played Catch Phrase again then watched a Monk marathon that was on TV. Then we went to bed at 10:30.

Yes, I am home as of today at 5. I missed everyone so much!! I can't wait to see you all tomorrow!! Don't be surprised if I hug you. I will write ALL about the trip later this week when I have more time. I've been writing everything that happened in a journal so I'm gonna just type everything from there. TTYL!!!

I am leaving tomorrow morning at 5:15 a.m. to go to the airport to fly to CO. Ugh. It's almost 10:00 right now. I will be at CO for 2 weeks. The first week I'm staying at Breckenridge, and the second I'll be traveling all around CO with Mom and Julia while my dad stays in Canon city, and Josh and Cherise go home. It's gonna be fun. Pray that we get there and back safe and we have a good time.

Oh, and my whole family got A for their boarding pass...except me!!! I got B!!! How bad is that??? They board the plane then I have to wait BY MYSELF until B boards!! I'm kinda worryed about that...but it'll be fine...I hope. I will try to post something while I'm there but I can't promise anything.

So right now I am at Cherise's house. We got here yesterday about 3:30. We left from my house to come here at 11:00 am, but we stopped to eat for about a half hour. Cherise wasn't home from work yet when we came so Josh, Julia, Mom, and I went over to Hans' place. PHEW! (it smelled like a fart) But we played this cool pirate game (it was being played in the second pirates movie) I would've won but I didn't cause the way the turns were. (no I'm not just making excuses) Josh won tho.

So last night the 4 girls watched 24, the office finale, lost, and part of American Idol from wednesday night. And in 5 minutes we're gonna go see Premonition with Sandra Bullock. The one where she keeps waking up and her husband is alive then she wakes up again and he's dead. So that should be interesting! Well, we gotta go! Ttyl I hope! Love u guys.

Missions training weekend

I survived the training all right. Now that I'm home it doesn't even feel like I was there...except my whole body hurts. Lol. It was great being up there! I love it up there even if I have to do some work. I counted about 15 projects we did to train and I helped with 10 of them. So I was very very busy Saturday...On Sunday I did *some* work. I had to sweep out our cabin and mop it, with Elaine P. We played capture the flag Sunday during our free time, in between the worship and lunch. I did absulutely nothing in the game. I didn't tag anyone, I didn't do anything. Well, when I knew that it was going to end very very soon, I just made a run to get people out of jail...because I was bored. I knew I wouldn't make it but I really wanted to do something. So I got my self in jail. Lol.

On Friday, you know I had to go early, right? Well, I went and I think the only reason God had me go early was to help Lisa, Alina, and Kim work some things out. There was a big fight...I won't get into the details but It ended *just* as the other people were pulling in!! Perfect timing! If we had all gone later then we would have fought, with a bunch of people around...Which wouldn't have been good. So we got through our differences before people came. I think that was a blessing from God.

And you all know about Jeff right?? He was very fun. I have a bruise on my head from him, tho.

Over all it was good training and it was fun. Yup.

Introduction:
Lumbridge and Varrock are two countries that are allies. This is in a time where horses can fly and there is much magic in the world. Lumbridge at the time of this story is under attack by Sameria. Sameria is a county with much evil magic and whom many countries fear greatly. The three princes from Lumbridge (Philip, Dominic and John) are going to get help from the princesses (Michele, Rachel and Nicole) of Varrock.

Chapter One
The Meeting
•♦•
Philip, Dominic and John are the princes of Lumbridge. They are in the capital city of Varrock in a tavern. The rain outside has prevented them from finishing their journey today.
"Do you think that Michele, Rachel, and Nicole will be up to seeing us so early in the week, Philip?" asked Dominic.
"They would be delighted to see us anytime. Remember the fun we had as children playing in the fields and woods?" answered Philip.
John said, "Those three men over there have not stopped watching since we entered. What is their interest, do you suppose?"
All at once the tallest of those watchers stood and approached their table.
"Are you the princes from Lumbridge?" he asked in a gravely voice.
"We have been looking for you to take you to the palace. The ladies are expecting you."
The man then turned around. His two companions joined him at the door.
"Come," said the tall man.
The three princes looked at each other and nodded. It was good that they were expected. They looked forward to being dry, warm and fed once again.
Outside the three men turned down a side road to the palace.
"Have you figured out who we are yet?" said the shortest one.
John, who was the one prince to always speak his mind, replied coldly, "How would we do that? I have never seen you before in my life."
Then the one who had not said anything yet giggled in a way that a man would never do and said in a girly voice, "You guys are so stupid, I bet you didn’t learn a thing since last summer. I am Rachel, princess of Varrock."

Chapter Two
Sword Maids

Dominic, Philip, and John all dropped their mouths in disbelief. As the princesses took off their capes. "You’re the princesses all right!" Dominic said, "Why are you in disguise?"
Nicole answered the question. "We’re suppose to be in lady-like lessons right now, but we hate them. We want to have some action!" Then sheepishly she said, "We kind of snuck out , but they’re used to it by now."
"What do you mean!?" John said in surprise.
Rachel replied happily, "Down the tower in the stable, through the hunting grounds under the moat and you’re FREE!"
They all were surprised that she would admit their deceitfulness because to them she was a perfect angel.
"Let’s just go to the palace and get some food in our stomachs," Dominic said.
When they arrived at the palace after the long walk on the dirt road, a very cheerful young lady came running down the stairs.
"Oh good, you’re back. Did you have a good time playing truant from your lady-like lessons today?"
Rachel, Michele and Nicole all looked at each other.
"How did you know that we were not there at the lessons this afternoon?" Nicole inquired with a tremor in her voice.
The maid laughed and said, "As you might already know, the maids know everything, my dear."
The three princes laughed a little. Rachel elbowed John in the arm and said, "It’s not funny."
He knew that she was just kidding.
When they got to the dining room, they saw King Henry sitting at the table. He said, "Where were you? I thought that I could trust you! I guess that I was wrong. If you’re going to learn to sneak out you better use it, you will have no dinner tonight!"
The girls could not eat, but the boys could. They dug into the excellent food as the hungry travelers they were. The girls waited in another room until they knew the princes were done eating and then the king, princes and princesses started to talk about the war.
Philip began, "Our country is under fierce attack. We desperately need some help. Will you please come to our country’s aid?"
King Henry looked at the pleading faces of his daughters. "I think that I could not go. My own country is in need of my presence for the troubles we face, but I could send my daughters with you," he mused. "They know how to command troops. I will talk it over with the queen. I will tell you what we have decided."
As they waited for him to talk it over with the queen, they were deciding what to do.
"What are we going to do?" asked Nicole.
"I don’t know, but we’ll think of something," John said hopefully.
As they waited patiently outside the door, they were thinking of all the things they did when they were young. It was a relief to not have to think about wars and battles. They thought about when they played together in the fields.
It seemed like not even a minute had passed when the king and queen stepped into the room. They were very anxious.
King Henry said with some excitement, "We have decided that you three my go to the war and help the county of Lumbridge."
The girls were so excited they jumped up and down before they realized that they had a lot to do ahead of them.

Chapter Three
Preparing for a Fight

First of all they had to prepare the troops, not to mention get troops. As they got ready to go to Lumbridge, the maid came in with a solemn look on her face. Nicole, Michele and Rachel looked at each other wondering what had gone wrong. The maid was always so happy and now when she is not happy. They knew something terrible had gone wrong.
"What’s wrong?" John said in sadness almost as if he did not want to know what was wrong.
"I’m terribly sorry to tell you this, but Queen Anna is ill. We think she has been poisoned. She has not been sick for so long and she has not done anything much different," said the maid with great sorrow in her voice as she spoke.
Rachel, Michele, Nicole, Philip, John and Dominic all looked at each other and they all wondered how they could go to war with the queen so sick. They were also thinking who could have done this terrible thing. The girls had an idea who might have done this. They knew that the person who did this didn’t want them to go to war and help save Lumbridge. They thought of all the people they knew for a while. Then they stopped thinking and turned to look at each other and at that very moment they knew who had done it.
They all went down out of the girls’ bedrooms and went to see Sir Edward the knight. They searched the palace almost everywhere until they found him in one of the dungeon rooms. He was holding a green bottle, which had a skull on the front, and was pouring it into a glass of orange juice for the queen.
"Are you making the queen a drink?" Michele said in a way which also meant ‘we know what you’re up to and you won’t get away with it’. Sir Edward was surprised to see them standing in the doorway.
" Yes, I am," Sir Edward said trying not to make it obvious what he was putting in the drink. "You see the queen is ill and I thought she might enjoy a cup of orange juice. I’m just trying to help." He said with guiltiness in his voice.
"And you thought she might like some yummy poison in there too, hmm?" Nicole said. Sir Edward just stood trying to hide the bottle and put it in a bag behind him. Then he took the cup and said, "I’m just making a drink for the queen I want her to be well again." He said, not trying to make himself not sound murderous.

85 degrees in March????? Really??? Today was AMAZING! I can't believe it felt like Summer outside!! I'm wearing short and short and flip flops! I would go swimming but my pool has no water in it! LOL. Jul and I just went Bike riding. I got in an accident tho. I hurt my left leg all the way up from the foot to... nvm.

Today was actually not an all bad Monday! It was actually out of routine and it was good. Instead of eating a hot dog while walking around in BJ's and having people staring at me, I had mac and cheese from KFC and ate in the car and had NO ONE staring at me. And instead of dropping Julia off at Cornerstone, go to BJ's, then Weis, then pick Julia up and then home, we dropped Julia off, went to KFC, went to Gene Lily's Pool, then BJ's, Weis, Julia, Old Navy, Kohl's, and then home. It was very nice to go out of routine. I tried on this really really pretty cocktail dress at Kohl's, and it was marked down from $63 to $13. But mommy wouldn't let me get it. =(
And for my birthday someone can get me black leggings. At least I think that's what they call the black tight pants that come down a little past your knees. I loved that dress but it was over my knees and mom didn't like that. So maybe if I had leggings she *might* change her mind. Another thing that was out of routine was that we had mom's pizza for dinner! We normally only have it Saturday for dinner. But we didn't have it last Sat. because we had to go to Jesse A. B-day party. Jul, Bekah and I had to go to take pictures and Bekah was the reporter. The theme was Hollywood. Us 3 made awards made out of cups, sequence, and paper, to hand out to the kids that came. It was fun. Alina's B-day party is this weekend. Then my birthday party is the next weekend!!! Cherise is coming home a week from this Thursday to host my party. It's the same weekend as the women's retreat. So my mom won't be there for my b-day. =,( It's very very sad. You've got questions, we've got answers — straight from the mouths of Lost exec producers Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse. We sifted through more than 2,000 queries from EW readers and presented the most pressing to the powers that be.
What happened to Michael and Walt?CARLTON CUSE: We put a pin in the Michael and Walt story for the season, but by no means is it over. It would be very strange for the end of Michael and Walt to just send them off in that boat without any acknowledgment of what has happened. But if you look at the bigger picture of Lost, there's a circularity to the way that story is going to unfold in the overall mythology, and that is a long, planned approach. Yes, we'll get back to the Michael and Walt story, and it will be really compelling when we do. But that's most likely a year 4 story. DAMON LINDELOF: Michael and Walt are the first characters on the show to ''get off the island.'' But the pervasive question remains: What is ''off the island''?
Are we going to get the history of the Others in one shot, or will this be revealed over time?LINDELOF: It's definitely unfolding. We will begin to find out how certain members of the Others joined the Others. Episode 7 should play as a surprise to some audience members that Juliet was not born on the island — she came off the island and was recruited by the Others. So some of them were born there and some of them were recruited, but what they are there to do will be revealed before who put them there and why. CUSE: The connection between the Others and Dharma gets revealed in episode 11.
When will we see Libby again? Will we ever learn how she got into the mental hospital with Hurley?CUSE: Given everything else we have to tell, that's going to be a mystery that's going to have to get answered in year 4. LINDELOF: There's really one significant missing piece to Libby's story. We saw in the season finale last year that she met with Desmond, she gave him his boat, and we know that her husband died — and then we know that subsequent to that, she spent some time in a mental institution, the same one as Hurley. The question the audience wants answered is, How did she get from A to B — from Desmond to the mental institution? We know the answer to that question, but the only way to tell that story is through another character's flashback, and that character would have to be another character on the show who is not among the beach dwellers.
What is the significance of the horse that Kate saw?CUSE: People seem mystified by this. I would say this: We have seen a number of apparitions on the island, from Jack's dad to Kate's horse. You'll be getting more of an understanding of those apparitions during the course of this season. LINDELOF: What is the nature of those apparitions? By definition, an apparition shouldn't be something you could go up and touch, or that other people should be able to see. And yet, Kate's horse is real. It is living in the physical world. Sawyer sees it; Kate goes up and touches it. Does the horse bear a striking resemblance to a horse that provided her an escape in her past as a fugitive, or is it the same exact horse? That is a fundamental question. But look at the show in total. Here's Christian Shepherd [Jack's dad]. Here's Yemi [Eko's brother]. Here's the horse. Here's Walt. [Remember, Walt appeared to Shannon, and later to Shannon and Sayid in a backwards-speaking vision.] Are all those things the same thing, or are some of them different things? CUSE: We're also using these things to set up an animated sitcom spin-off called ''Kate's Horse and Sayid's Cat.'' LINDELOF: That's right. Sayid's cat is coming up in episode 11. We're not joking. CUSE: Except for the animated part.
What is the meaning or significance of the two skeletons that Jack and Kate found in the cave of season 1?CUSE: The answer to that question goes to the nature of the timeline of the island. We don't want to say too much about it, but there are a couple Easter eggs embedded in [the Feb. 7 episode], one of which is an anagram that actually sheds some light on the skeletons and hints at a larger mythological mystery that will start to unfold later in the season. LINDELOF: There were certain things we knew from the very beginning. Independent of ever knowing when the end was going to be, we knew what it was going to be, and we wanted to start setting it up as early as season 1, or else people would think that we were making it up as we were going along. So the skeletons are the living — or, I guess, slowly decomposing — proof of that. When all is said and done, people are going to point to the skeletons and say, ''That is proof that from the very beginning, they always knew that they were going to do this.''
Last season, we saw in Ana Lucia's flashback that she witnessed an argument between Christian Shepherd and a woman in Australia, in which Christian demanded to see his daughter. The burning question/conspiracy theory that fans have is this: Is Claire Jack's half sister?CUSE: We're not going to answer that question — but the show will. In the next six episodes.
Did Desmond's failure to press the button REALLY cause the plane to crash — or is there more to this story?LINDELOF: In terms of the pragmatic reality, Oceanic 815 never would have crashed had Desmond pushed the button. But is there a larger, more faith-based, spiritualized reason that these people happened to be on that plane when he failed to press the button? If Desmond hadn't run into Jack at that stadium, would he have made the same choices that he made in his life? They all impact each other's lives. The fact that that guy is on that plane up there, and Desmond brings that plane down, it speaks to an interrelatedness among characters, why these people, why do they all connect. No amount of mythological answers will ever speak to this. That's the one thing that when the show ends, you won't have a causal explanation for why did all these people interconnect. Why some, why not others? The answer is just that they just do. The show is a massive Rube Goldberg device, in which all the components of the machinery are humans.
Even though The Hatch blew up, will we return to the mystery of the Dharma map that Desmond's previous Hatch occupants were painting on the retractable blast door?CUSE: We will be visiting another Dharma station soon. But the map becomes less important, because when they visit this new station, they'll be getting some new information that helps them understand where the Dharma people lived and where their stations are.
Will Penelope ever become a significiant character, and when will we get a follow-up to the monumentally dramatic revelation at the end of season 2 that the EM burst was detected off the island?CUSE: Penelope's story continues in episode 8 [Feb. 14] in Desmond's flashbacks. We put that scene at the end of the season finale for a reason, and like the anagram, they're components to a larger revelation. You'll learn more about why we put that scene at the end of season 2 by the end of season 3.
Does time pass differently on the island than off the island?LINDELOF: That's a really perceptive question. We know that the Others taped the Red Sox win the World Series in 2004... so that would seem to indicate that time flows the same both on and off. But then again, when the sky turns purple and the ground shakes... wait. Hold on. Carlton is wringing my neck. CUSE: Yes. Time passes very slowly because they don't have American Idol to watch.
In the ''death of Mr. Eko'' episode, it was my interpretation that the Monster was able to assume human form, i.e., Eko's brother. Am I crazy for thinking that? And will we learn anything more about the Monster's origins this season?LINDELOF: You're not crazy. You will see the monster again this season. Its origins, however... well, you'll have to wait. CUSE: Whether or not you learn more about it will depend on how obsessive you are. If you enjoy recording the program and studying individual frames, you might. But really, is that healthy?
Is there a mystery you will never solve?LINDELOF: We will never give story time to revealing the construction of the infamous rope bridge. CUSE: And honestly, we're never going to tell you why the French lady has a Yugoslavian accent.
